Alwatan & Asnan International Tournament 2013

The Alwatan & Asnan International Tournament 2013 took place from December 17-22 , 2013 in Kuwait City , Kuwait . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2013/14 and belonged to the International 50 category . It was the first edition of the tournament.

In the final, the top seeded Spaniard Borja Golán and the fourth seeded Simon Rösner from Germany faced each other. Rösner won the game with 11: 4, 11: 5 and 12:10 without losing a set, with which he won the seventh title of his career. It was Rösner's first victory in a tournament in this category.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 16 players, four of which were starting places for qualifiers. Per Wildcard received Abdullah Al Muzayen a spot in the main draw. In the first round he defeated Daryl Selby, the second seeded top ten player, in five sets and also remained victorious in the quarterfinals before he had to admit defeat to Simon Rösner in the semifinals.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 50,000.
