Vrieswijk's enthusiasm arose from watching the King of the Caribbean -Windsurf World Cup 2002 on his home island Bonaire. Shortly afterwards, he started windsurfing himself. In the beginning he was often on the water with his father and later with his best friend Kiri Thode .
In 2004 he took part in a children's competition for the first time and in 2011 for the first time in a World Cup. The first successes soon followed. At the World Cup on Bonaire in June 2014, Vrieswijk was on the podium for the first time and at the end of the season, in fourth place, narrowly missed the top 3 in the overall standings. After finishing third in the freestyle category in 2015, the 2016 world championship title was within reach after a victory on the Costa Calma . He won the single elimination on Sylt but then had to admit defeat to Gollito Estredo in the final . The same fate befell him in the 2017 season.
Vrieswijk still lives on Bonaire likes to drive quad bikes .
