Sant Pere Pescador ( cat . [ ˌSam ˌpeɾə pəskəˈðo ], Spanish . San Pedro Pescador , [ ˌsamˌpeðɾo peskaˈðoɾ ]) is a municipality in the autonomous region of Catalonia ( Spain ) in the province of Girona and in the comarca Alt Empordà ( Spanish: Alto Ampurdán ) . The municipality has 2042 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019) and covers an area of 18.47 km². The place is on the Fluvià river , which flows into the Golf de Roses at Sant Pere Pescador . The estuary, as well as almost the entire area up to the mouth of the La Muga river , belongs to the Parc Natural dels Aiguamolls de l'Empordà , the second largest wetland in Catalonia. The place lives from tourism and agriculture (especially apple cultivation).
