Darnius is a Catalan municipality in the province of Girona in northeastern Spain . It is located in the Pyrenees in the Comarca Alt Empordà .

Geographical location

Darnius is located about 56 kilometers north of the provincial capital Girona in a strategically important location on the border with France .
