Attractions

Portal of Sant Pere
  • The portal unfortunately badly preserved of about one kilometer south of the present village standing old parish church ( Església vella de Sant Pere de Can Miró ) ( 42 ° 13 '3 "  N , 2 ° 52' 2"  O ) is a jewel of medieval architecture - It shows two set rotated columns , an also rotated inner archivolt arch and others with just recognizable decorations as well as a ' Lamb of God ' in the tympanum field . The completely preserved iron door fittings are still considered originals from the 12th or early 13th century; the spirally tapering bands resemble those of the Prieuré de Marcevol in Roussillon and a few other Romanesque door fittings in the Pyrenees . There is a small arched window above the portal; the west facade but also the nave show clear traces of a later elevation in the upper part, on which the simple bell gable ( espadanya ) was added. The nave is barrel vaulted .
  • The new parish church ( Església nova de Sant Pere ) is a much larger building from the middle of the 17th century, which was not completed until a century later with the installation of the baroque portal, which has a niche figure of St. Peter shows. The rib-vaulted nave is accompanied by chapels. The apse is decorated with late Renaissance paintings from 1725.
  • A wall with a round tower has been preserved from the medieval castle ( castell ).
