Amalie Schramm
Amalie Schramm (born October 31, 1826 in Memel ; † December 3, 1907 in Berlin ) was a German opera singer ( coloratura soprano ) and actress .
Life
Amalie Schramm was a daughter of the soprano and actress Henriette Schramm-Graham (1803–1876) and the actor Nikolaus Schramm and sister of Auguste Schramm (after 1819–1854; singer and actress) and Anna Schramm (1835–1916; soprano and actress) . She was trained by her mother, who gave up her own stage career in 1844 and from then on focused on caring for her family. Amalie Schramm was already on the stage as a child. The singer and vocal teacher Marie von Marra-Vollmer (1822–1878) took on further vocal training.
In the years from 1847 Schramm celebrated great success as Koloratrice in Königsberg, Riga, Danzig and Magdeburg, among others. In 1855, at the height of her singing career, she lost her voice.
She turned back to acting and was a member of the Friedrich Wilhelm Municipal Theater in Berlin from 1856 to 1860 , then until 1873 as a character actress member of the Court Theater in Schwerin .
Amalie, who had given up her career in 1873, lived with her in Kötzschenbroda (today Radebeul ) until her mother's death in 1876 and then with her sister Anna first in the former mother's house and then in Berlin.
Amalie Schramm died in Berlin in 1907 at the age of 81 and was buried in Cemetery I of the Jerusalem and New Churches , where her sister Anna would later find her final resting place. In contrast to the sister's grave, that of Amalie Schramm has not survived.
