Amalie von Pfalz-Zweibrücken-Birkenfeld-Bischweiler
Maria Amalie Auguste, Countess Palatinate of Zweibrücken-Birkenfeld-Bischweiler (born May 10, 1752 in Mannheim , † November 15, 1828 in Dresden ) was Electress and first Queen of Saxony and Duchess of Warsaw.
Life
She was born in Mannheim as the daughter of Count Palatine Friedrich Michael von Zweibrücken-Birkenfeld-Bischweiler and his wife Countess Palatine Maria Franziska von Sulzbach and was married to Friedrich August I of Saxony on January 17, 1769 in Dresden . At that time, her husband was already Elector of Saxony, and in 1806 he proclaimed himself the first King of Saxony. Napoleon had made him Duke of Warsaw. Through his marriage he became the brother-in-law of the Bavarian king, because Amalie was the sister of the later first Bavarian king Maximilian I Joseph .

Electress Amalie gave birth to four children, three of them were stillborns, only the daughter Maria Augusta reached adulthood, but remained unmarried.
