Amandine Miquel (born April 8, 1984 in Bétheny ) is a French football coach .

Life and career

Amandine Miquel was born near Reims and grew up in a family whose parents preferred to work as teachers abroad. At the age of six, her daughter began playing football in mixed teams in Mexico , mostly in goal or in midfield . When she was twelve, she moved to England with her parents and joined Chelsea Ladies FC . There she played in the B-youth (U-17) alongside Fara Williams , Casey Stoney and Kelly Smith , won both the national championship and the cup with Chelsea in this age group before her parents, for professional reasons , moved again, this time to Réunion .

After a short time, Miquel decided to work primarily as a trainer . In 2010 she obtained the trainer's diploma and was responsible for all age groups for male and female youth on Reunion Island. In 2011, the Mayotte Football Association appointed her to be in charge of all women's football . In 2014 she returned to the French heartland and trained successively the league women of FC Bergerac and from 2015 Chamois Niort , both at home in the third division . However, Amandine Miquel did not succeed with either club. Before she decided on Niort, she also had an offer to work on the coaching staff of the Auvergnat regional association of the Fédération Française de Football .

From the beginning of 2017, the women's second division Stade Reims handed over the positions of head coach of the league team and at the same time as coordinator of its entire women's football department, which was only re-established in 2014. In this way, she returned to her hometown, where the club has had its youth and training center since 2014. The red and whites from Champagne she supervised finished fifth in the final table of their group in 2017 and second in 2018 and rose as group winners and champions in Division 1 Féminine in summer 2019 . Amandine Miquel then received the award as trainer of the year from the French coaching association UNECATEF.

One of the maxims of their work is the conviction that teams must grow together harmoniously. That is why she had already insisted in Niort on not being able to work with the women for just one year. And when asked whether she regretted only finishing second in Reims 2018 and not having already been promoted there, Amandine Miquel replied: “Not at all. We weren't that far ... we needed another year in the D2 to stabilize our game system. "
