The Ambler River is a right tributary of the Kobuk River in northwest Alaska (USA).
It has its source at the Nakmaktuak Pass in the Schwatka Mountains , a part of the Brooks Range . From there it flows south out of the mountain range, then turns west and later south-west. It takes up the right tributary Redstone River , which also comes from the mountains . At the town of Ambler , after 120 km it reaches the Kobuk River, which flows in a westerly direction and into which it flows from the north.
