Carlos Alberto de Pinho Moreira Azevedo (born September 4, 1953 in Milheirós de Poiares , Portugal ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and Curia Bishop in the Vatican.

Life

The Bishop of Porto , António Ferreira Gomes , ordained him a priest on July 10, 1977 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Belali and auxiliary bishop in Lisbon on February 4, 2005 . He was ordained bishop by the Patriarch of Lisbon, Cardinal José da Cruz Policarpo , on April 2nd of the same year in the Catedral Sé Patriarcal ; Co- consecrators were Armindo Lopes Coelho , Bishop of Porto , and João Miranda Teixeira , Auxiliary Bishop of Porto.

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on November 11, 2011 as a delegate of the Pontifical Council for Culture . On June 2, 2015, Pope Francis appointed him a member of the Pontifical Commission for Sacred Archeology .
