Amblyglyphidodon is a genus Indopazifischer damselfish (Pomacentridae). They live on the reef roof and the outer zones of the coral reefs and in lagoons . The main distribution areas are the coastal waters of Indonesia and the Philippines , as well as the Red Sea .

features

The fish are 7.5 to 11 centimeters long and are quite high-backed. They have 13-17 scales along the lateral line organ . The number of gill trap processes is 24 to 30.

Way of life

Amblyglyphidodon species live in pairs and defend their territory with great aggressiveness against conspecifics and alien fish. They feed on plankton , small crustaceans, and algae.
