Ambra Vallo

Ambra Vallo (* in Naples ) is an Italian classical ballet dancer . She is currently a Principal Dancer with the Royal Ballet .

Act

Vallo was trained at the Royal Ballet School of Flanders. Her debut was at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma . At seventeen she was invited as a guest by Vladimir Vasilyev .

She was the soloist of the "Royal Opera of Wallonia" and after the "Royal Ballet of Flanders" she was senior soloist of the English National Ballet from 1993 . In 1995 she received personal congratulations from Lady Diana as Juliet at the Royal Festival Hall .

Since 2001 she has been the most famous principal of the Birmingham Royal Ballet .

Awards

She garnered critical acclaim worldwide by participating in several international competitions. She won first prize at the “International Grand Prix Luxembourg” and the silver medal at Houlgate , France. At Debrett's people of today , she is included among the UK's thousand most famous personalities.

In Italy she won prizes at “Danza e danza” (Best Dancer, 2004), Positano (Critics' Prize 1991 and 2002) and Rieti (Gold Medal). In 2009, together with Fabio Cannavaro and Gianluigi Aponte , she won the “Excellence in the Neapolitan World” award from President Silvio Berlusconi at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples .
