The Ambrone is a river in France that runs in the Occitania region . It rises in the municipality of Saint-Benoît below the Col del Tuquet , generally drains in a north-westerly direction and after around 22 kilometers flows into the Hers-Vif as a right tributary in the municipality of Moulin-Neuf . On its way the river crosses the Aude department and reaches the Ariège department just before its mouth .
