Val de Lambronne is a French commune with 185 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aude department in the Occitanie region (before 2016 Languedoc-Roussillon ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Limoux and the canton of La Haute-Vallée de l'Aude (until 2015 the canton of Chalabre ).
Val de Lambronne was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2016 by merging the previous municipalities of Caudeval and Gueytes-et-Labastide . Since then, these have been Communes déléguées .

geography
As the crow flies, the municipality is exactly between Foix and Carcassonne . Val de Lambronne is located 33 kilometers northeast of Foix and 34 kilometers southwest of Carcassonne. The Ambronne crosses the municipality and in parts forms the municipal boundary. Large parts of the Val de Lambronne are forested. The municipality consists of the village of Caudeval, the hamlet of Guyetes and small settlements and farmhouses. Neighboring municipalities are Seignalens in the north, Lignairolles in the north and north-east, Escueillens-et-Saint-Just-de-Bélengard in the north-east, Peyrefitte-du-Razès in the east and south-east, Corbières and Tréziers in the south, Moulin-Neuf (in the Ariège department ) in the west and Cazals-des-Baylès (in the Ariège department) in the north-west.

traffic
Val de Lambronne is far away from any major national traffic routes. The railway lines from Carcassonne to Rivesaltes further east and the railway line from Portet-Saint-Simon to Puigcerda (in Spain) further west are of national importance. There are good rail connections in Limoux and Pamiers. The E80 passes a few kilometers north . The closest connection is in Villesiscle. The D18, D320 and D626 are important for regional traffic.
