Lauraguel ( identical in Occitan ) is a southern French municipality with 609 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the center of the Aude department in the Occitania region (before 2016 Languedoc-Roussillon ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Limoux (until 2017 Limoux ) and the canton La Piège au Razès (until 2015 Alaigne ). The inhabitants are called Lauraguélois .
location
Lauraguel is located on the southeastern edge of the Lauragais in the former county of Razès, about 21 kilometers southwest of Carcassonne . Lauraguel is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Malviès in the north, Saint-Martin-de-Villeregan in the east, Gaja-et-Villedieu in the south, Pauligne in the south-west and Routier in the west and north-west.
