Routier ( Occitan : Rotièr ) is a southern French municipality with 248 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the center of the Aude department in the Occitania region (before 2016 Languedoc-Roussillon ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Limoux (until 2017 Limoux ) and the canton La Piège au Razès (until 2015 Alaigne ). The inhabitants are called Rotiérois .

location

Routier is located on the southeastern edge of the Lauragais in the former county of Razès, about 26 kilometers southwest of Carcassonne . Routier is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Cambieure in the north, Brugairolles in the north-east, Malviès in the east and south-east, Lauraguel in the east and south-east, Pauligne in the south-east, Donazac in the south, Alaigne in the west and Belvèze-du-Razès in the north-west.
