Catchment area 1386 km²

The Amburayan ( eng .: Amburayan River ) is a river in the province of Benguet and La Union in the Philippines . Its main sources are in the Cordillera Central mountains on the flanks of Mount Labo and Mount Osbong, which are over 2000 meters high. The border between the provinces of La Union and Ilocos Sur is based on the course of the Amburayan up to its mouth in the South China Sea , it has a water catchment area of 1386 km².

From its sources, the Amburayan flows in a south-westerly direction to the municipality of Kibungan , then crosses the province of Ilocos Sur , municipality of Sugpon , then flows westwards towards the sea until it ends in an approx. 5 km wide flat river mouth between Bangar and Tagudin . The main tributaries are the Naburgo, its source is on Mount Toyongan near the municipality of Atok , and the Chico, its source is on Mount Tuntayan.

Part of the pre-colonial north Luconian epic The Life of Lam-Ang takes place on the waters of the Amburayan.
