The building consists of structures built parallel to each other on a small plot at the fork of two streets. The three-storey double-gabled house of the Franconian style has over 60 differently designed fan rosettes . The execution of the carving work and the elaborate facade design with the polygonal , two-storey utlucht testify not only to the wealth of ideas and skills of the builders , but also to the wealth of the client.

history

The noble von Amelunxen family owned a fiefdom transferred from the abbot in Corvey as early as the 13th century . Christoph von Amelunxen, who had made a fortune as a cavalry master in the service of the French king , rebuilt this house in the Weser Renaissance style between 1564 and 1571. After several changes of ownership, it was given to the Corveysche Landvogt Schoff in 1677.

Since 1796 the Court will as a rectory of the Catholic church and residence of the parish dean used.

Due to the damage caused by the weather and wear and tear, the front facade with the decorative facade of the house was thoroughly overhauled in 1907 . Further renovations took place from 1950 to 1980.

In 1988 archaeological investigations revealed extensive findings from previous buildings in the northeastern area of the area. Most recently, the entire wooden structure was subjected to thermal treatment in 2006 to combat worm infestation .
