American Heritage Rivers
American Heritage Rivers (of English "heritage": inheritance , legacy ) are from the United States Environmental Protection Agency reported, to awaken special attention and in three respects: the protection of natural resources and the environment, economic revitalization and preservation of history and Culture. The efforts of various government organizations are coordinated.
The initiative was initiated by Executive Order 13061 on September 11, 1997 by President Bill Clinton .
List of rivers
President Clinton declared a total of 14 rivers or river systems to be American Heritage Rivers on July 30, 1998.
