The American Humanist Association (AHA) is an American association for the advancement of humanism . The organization, based in Washington, DC, supports the concept of humanism of the International Humanistic and Ethical Union , of which the AHA is a founding member.

history

The AHA was founded in 1941 as the successor to the Humanist Press Association , which in turn goes back to the Humanist Fellowship . The symbol of the AHA is the happy human . The Amsterdam Declaration (2002) is supported by the AHA .
