Amina Sherif (born May 17, 1999 in Haan ) is a German chess player who has been playing for the Egyptian Chess Association since 2013. In 2015 she received the title of International Women's Champion (WIM) from FIDE .

Life

Amina Sherif learned to play chess from her Egyptian father. She has two nationalities , German and Egyptian.

In Germany she took part in the German Youth Championships since 2010 . She has been playing at the German amateur chess championships since 2011, for example in 2015 in Brühl near Cologne , where she won 50 percent in group B.

successes

In 2013 she took part in the U14 World Championships for women.
In 2014 in Magdeburg , she was third in the German U18 female youth championship.
She also played the Solingen City Championship 2014 and the Sparkassen-Open A at the Dortmund Chess Days 2014.

She plays club chess for the Solingen chess society . She is also active as a guest player in the women's game business. From the 2011/12 season to the 2013/14 season she played for the Krefeld chess club Turm 1851 , in the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons for SV Heiden, and since the 2016/17 season she has been playing for TuRa Harksheide .

In November 2013, Amina Sherif won the African youth championship in the U14 female age group in Port Elizabeth and was therefore named Candidate Master for women (WCM). After she won the African Youth Championship U18 (female) in Monastir in December 2014 (with 7 points from 7 games) , she was awarded the title of International Women's Champion (WIM). In April 2015 Amina Sherif led the African U16 Elo ranking for women. For women, she is fifth in the Egyptian ranking and eighth in the African ranking. With the Egyptian women's selection, she took part in the 2016 Chess Olympiads in Baku and 2018 in Batumi as well as the 2015 World Team Championship in Chengdu .
