Amine Bouanani gained his first international experience in 2013 at the Arab Youth Championships in Cairo , where he won the silver medal in 14.27 seconds. He then took part in the Youth World Championships in Donetsk , but retired there with 14.39 s in the first round. The following year he reached the C-final at the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing , where he finished fourth in 14.19 s. In 2015 he won the silver medal at the Junior African Championships in Addis Ababa in 14.24 s and in 2016 he won the Arab Junior Championships in Tlemcen in 13.96 s and won the silver medal in the 200-meter run in 21.60 s. He then reached the semi-finals in the hurdles sprint at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz and was eliminated there with 13.78 s. In 2018, he won the silver medal at the U23 Mediterranean Championships in Jesolo in 14.01 seconds and secured the bronze medal in the Algerian 4 x 100 meter relay in 41.19 seconds. The following year he won the bronze medal at the Arab Championships in Cairo in 14.15 seconds behind the Kuwaiti Yaqoub Mohamed al-Youha and Ahmed al-Muwallad from Saudi Arabia. He then won the Africa Games in Rabat in 13.60 s and reached fourth place in the Military World Games in Wuhan in 13.78 s.
In 2017 Bouanani became Algerian champion in the 110-meter hurdles.
