Amine Linganzi Koumba (* 16th November 1989 in Algiers ) is an in Algeria -born and for the national team of the Republic of Congo active football players . The defensive midfielder , who grew up in France , was under contract with AS Saint-Étienne between 2008 and 2010 and later with Blackburn Rovers in England until January 2013 .

Athletic career

Born in the Algerian capital, Linganzi first came into contact with club football in Aix-en-Provence - the adopted home of his Congo-born parents in the south of France. The following stay between 2002 and 2004 in nearby Vitrolles was a further intermediate step before he was accepted by the AS Cannes youth department . There, as an athletic central defensive midfielder, he drew sustained attention to himself in front of the talent scouts by winning the state championship in the 15-year-old age group. With an enormous growth spurt of 15 centimeters within a very short time, the talent appeared to be well equipped for the upcoming professional football. He stayed in Cannes until 2006 and then joined AS Saint-Étienne .

Under the coaches Primard, Bouhazama and Blachon, Linganzi played his way through the B-team in the 2007/08 season (22 games and one goal) in the extended circle of the first team. In the senior team he made his debut on September 28, 2008 on the occasion of a 1-1 draw against Girondins Bordeaux and eight days later he came against Rosenborg Trondheim (3-0) in the UEFA Cup for a first short appearance on the European stage.

On January 28, 2010 Linganzi moved to Blackburn Rovers in England on a free transfer , where he signed a contract for 3½ years. He came here ostensibly in the reserve team, where he especially knew how to convince in a game against the understudy of Wigan Athletic . On the last Premier League matchday of the 2009/10 season he was in the starting line-up of the A-team for the first time and contributed 45 minutes to the 1-0 victory against Aston Villa . From January to May 2011 he was loaned to the then second division Preston North End , but was only used on January 15, 2011 in the league game against Leicester City . Without completing further league games in the Blackburn first team, Linganzi's engagement ended prematurely at the end of January 2013 due to an early termination of the contract.
