Life

Amir Aslan Afshar was the son of Camila Saed and Emir Massoud from the Afshar's dynasty ( Nadir Shah ). He graduated from high school in 1939 at the Hindenburg secondary school in Berlin-Wilmersdorf and received his doctorate in political science from the University of Vienna in 1942 .

He joined the foreign service in 1948. From 1950 to 1954 he was an attaché at the embassy in The Hague . From April 18 to 24, 1955 he was a delegate of the Economic Commission of the Bandung Conference . From 1956 to 1961 he was a deputy for Azerbaijan in the Majles . In addition to his work as a member of parliament, he was a delegate to the United Nations Economic Committee from 1957 to 1961 .

In 1957 Amir Aslan Afshar was adjutant to Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi for a short time . In 1962 he was appointed envoy. From 1967 to 1969 he was ambassador to Vienna. From 1969 to 1973 he was ambassador to the USA, then until 1977 ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany.

After his return to Iran, Afshar was chief of protocol at the court of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi from 1977 to 1979. He left Iran with the Shah on January 16, 1979.
