Amira Elmissiry

Amira Elmissiry-Sulai (* 1982 ) is a Zimbabwean lawyer who works as a bank manager at the African Development Bank in the Ivorian capital Abidjan .

education

Amira Elmissiry began her law degree at Cardiff University, Welsh in 2000 . In 2004 she received her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree . From 2004 to 2006 she studied at the Inns of Court School of Law (now City Law School , City University London Faculty of Law ), where she attended the Bar Professional Training Course . In 2006 she was licensed as a barrister in the United Kingdom . She continued her education at the City Law School and graduated in 2009 with a Master of Laws (LLM) specializing in Restorative Justice . In 2016 she enrolled at the African Leadership University (ALU), in 2018 she obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Career

From 2005 to 2007 she worked as a program manager and research officer at the NGO Initiatives of Change International , for which she worked alternately in London and Geneva . From 2007 to 2008 she headed a project at the University of the Witwatersrand , which was supported by the German Society for International Cooperation and the Development Community of Southern Africa and which served to raise awareness of AIDS through the use of theater performances ( Drama for Life ) .

In August 2009, she moved to the African Development Bank (AfDB) in Tunis , where she worked as Assistant to the Secretary General until 2010. She then became an investment advisor in retail banking and worked in the microfinance department . She was eventually promoted to Senior Legal Adviser in the retail banking business and held that position until 2014.

In April 2014 Elmissiry moved to Abidjan and was appointed Special Advisor to AfDB President Donald Kaberuka . Since 2016 she has been head of the Equity and Catalytic Investment departments in the private customer sector.

She is married to Elisha Sulai, who also works for the African Development Bank
