Amos Kirui (born February 9, 1998 ) is a Kenyan obstacle runner .

Athletic career

Amos Kirui gained his first experience in international championships at the 2014 African Youth Games in Gaborone , where he won the bronze medal in the 2000 meter obstacle course. He qualified for the Summer Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing , where he won the silver medal in 5: 40.29 minutes. In 2016 he won the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz in a time of 8: 20.43 minutes over a 3000 meter obstacle. In 2017 he took part in the World Cross Country Championships in Kampala , where he finished seventh in the junior ranking and won the silver medal behind Ethiopia in the team ranking. In 2018 he took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast for the first time , where he won the bronze medal in 8: 12.24 minutes.
