Amphoe Tha Phae ( Thai : อำเภอ ท่าแพ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in Satun Province . The Satun Province is located in the southern region of Thailand on the west coast of the Malay Peninsula .

geography

Neighboring counties and areas are (clockwise from northwest): La-ngu , Khuan Kalong , Khuan Don, and Mueang Satun districts . All Amphoe are in the Satun Province. To the southwest lies the Andaman Sea .

history

Tha Phae was initially set up as a small district ( King Amphoe ) on May 1, 1976 by separating the two southwestern tambon Tha Phae and Pae Ra from the Amphoe Khuan Kalong . On July 4, 1994, Tha Phae received full Amphoe status.
