Amsham is a part of the Egglham municipality in the Rottal-Inn district in Lower Bavaria . Amsham is located on the Kothbach in the Isar-Inn hill country about two kilometers southeast of Egglham.

history

Amsham was first mentioned in a document in 1130, when a "Balduin de Omesheim" appears as a witness in an Aldersbach certificate. At the beginning of the 14th century the seat belonged to the nobles of Chamerau . In 1442 Alban von Closen acquired Amsham. With a brief interruption, the Hofmark remained in the possession of the von Closen family until Hans von Closen zu Arnstorf und Gern sold the Hofmark and all the goods in 1523 to the brothers Hans and Kaspar, the Offenheimers zu Talberg. The descendants of the Offenheimer brothers divided up the property.

In 1680 the Hofmark Amsham was bought by Count Gottfried Wilhelm von Rheinstein and Tattenbach. In 1748 the Counts of Tattenbach exchanged the Hofmark for the Hofmark Voitshofen with Aldersbach Monastery . It stayed with the monastery until secularization . The lock is no longer there.

In 1818 the rural community of Amsham was formed in the Vilshofen district court . From an ecclesiastical point of view, a branch of the parish of Egglham, Amsham became a branch in December 1902 and a parish with a document dated June 5, 1921.

During the territorial reform in Bavaria on October 1, 1971, the municipality of Amsham merged with Egglham, from which today's municipality of Egglham was created.
