history

On July 20, 1992, the interior minister of the state of Brandenburg gave his approval for the formation of the Am Senftenberger See office. July 31, 1992 was set as the date of implementation. It was created according to the so-called official model 1, i.e. H. a separate administration was formed. It had its seat in the then still independent municipality Brieske and comprised the following municipalities:

  1. Brieske
  2. Grand Koshen
  3. Hosena
  4. Niemtsch
  5. Peickwitz

With the incorporation of the communities Brieske, Großkoschen, Hosena, Niemtsch and Peickwitz into the city of Senftenberg on December 31, 2001, the Am Senftenberger See office was also dissolved with effect from December 31, 2001.

Office Director

The first and only official director of the Am Senftenberger See office was Peter Gallasch. In March 1997, he erected a black, five-meter-high wooden cross on the market square in Brieske as a memorial to save Marga , Germany's oldest garden city and monument, from decay. The renovation began a year later, for which a total of 90 million marks were required by 2000.
