The Office Ruhland ( Lower Sorbian Office Rólany ) is an office formed in 1992 in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district of the state of Brandenburg , in which originally six municipalities in the then Senftenberg district had merged to form an administrative association. A seventh church was added a little later. The seat of the official administration is the city of Ruhland . With the incorporation of a municipality, the number of official municipalities was reduced to six again.
Geographical location
The office is located in the south of the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district. It borders the city of Schwarzheide in the north, the city of Senftenberg in the east, the Free State of Saxony in the south, the Ortrand district in the west and the city of Lauchhammer in the northwest over a short distance .
Municipalities and districts
According to its main statute, the office consists of six municipalities:
- Grünewald with the inhabited part of the municipality Sella
- Guteborn with the Sorgenteich residential area
- Hermsdorf with the Jannowitz districtand the Lipsa district
- Hohenbocka with the residential area Vorstadt
- Ruhland (city) with the inhabited part of the municipality Arnsdorf and the residential areas Herschenzmühle, Kolonie Schönburgsau, Matzmühle, Neue Sorge and Waldesruh I
- Schwarzbach with the inhabited part of the municipality Biehlen
history
The Minister of the Interior of the State of Brandenburg initially gave his consent to the formation of the Ruhland Office on August 5, 1992. August 20, 1992 was set as the date on which the office was established. The office is based in the city of Ruhland and initially consisted of six communities in what was then Senftenberg :
- Grünewald
- Guteborn
- Hermsdorf
- Jannowitz
- Ruhland
- Schwarzbach
This consent was revoked in an announcement by the Minister of the Interior of Brandenburg on December 8, 1992. December 8, 1992 was set as the new date for the establishment of the office. The place Hohenbocka came to office in 1993. On December 31, 2001, Jannowitz was incorporated into the municipality of Hermsdorf.

Blazon : "Shield divided obliquely to the left by a wavy cut of silver and blue, above three uneven green conifers, below a golden church with a baroque tower dome and black pointed arched windows."
