Barnim North Office

The Barnim-Nord office was an office in Brandenburg formed in 1992 , in which four communities in what was then the Eberswalde district (now the Barnim district , Brandenburg) were combined to form an administrative association. After the merger of the four official municipalities to form the new (large) municipality of Finowfurt , it was dissolved again in 1997. The four communities that formerly belonged to the Barnim-Nord office are now districts of the new community of Schorfheide, which was formed in 2003 .

Geographical location

The Barnim-Nord office was in what was then the Eberswalde district (now the Barnim district ) in the northern part of the state of Brandenburg . It bordered in the north on the office Groß Schönebeck (Schorfheide) , in the east on the free city of Eberswalde , in the south and west on the office Biesenthal-Barnim .

history

On August 19, 1992, the Minister of the Interior of the State of Brandenburg gave his approval for the establishment of the Barnim-Nord office. August 21, 1992 was set as the date on which the office was established. The office was based in the municipality of Finowfurt and consisted of four municipalities in the then Eberswalde district :

  1. Eichhorst
  2. Finowfurt
  3. Lichterfelde
  4. Werbellin

On December 30, 1997, the communities of Lichterfelde, Finowfurt, Werbellin and Eichhorst merged to form a new (large) community of Finowfurt. At the same time, the Barnim-Nord office was dissolved. On October 26, 2003 Finowfurt and Groß Schönebeck merged to form the new municipality of Schorfheide. Since then, Eichhorst, Finowfurt, Lichterfelde and Werbellin have been districts of the community of Schorfheide.
