The eight municipalities of Dragun , Groß Salitz , Kneese , Krembz , Mühlen Eichsen , Roggendorf , Rögnitz and Veelböken were united in the office of Gadebusch-Land ( district of Nordwestmecklenburg in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ) with its seat in the non-official city of Gadebusch . The office was founded as one of the first administrative offices in the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania on May 27, 1991 and began its work on August 1, 1991.

In 1994, the municipality of Perlin , which originally belonged to the Gadebusch-Land office, was separated by a decision by the interior minister and assigned to the Lützow office. The Perlin community voted against it.

On January 1, 1999, the previously independent community of Groß Salitz was incorporated into Krembz. The office existed until its dissolution on January 1, 2004.

From 1991 to 2003, Andreas Lausen was the chief administrative officer. Armin Goletz was head of office from 1991 to 1999, then Sabine Schirrmeister from 1999 to 2003.

The communities together with the city of Gadebusch now form the new Gadebusch office .
