The Amt Gemünden was an administrative and judicial district of the County of Ziegenhain , the Landgraviate of Hesse and the Landgraviate of Hesse-Kassel that existed from the 14th century to the 16th century .

history

In 1346 the extent of the Amt Gemünden an der Wohra is described for the first time. Next to the main town Gemünden (Wohra) Josbach , Heimbach , Hettinghausen (desert) and one half of Holzbach (desert). Other locations were later named as part of the office. Moischeid was Ziegenhainsches fiefdom to the noble family Krug, which sold it in 1301 to the monastery Haina . Until 1301 the place belonged to the Gemünden court. The desert areas of Bleichenbach , Burghardshausen , Eckensdorf , Franzdorf , Heideldorf , Herbach , Hermeshain , Lindenborn and Steigershausen were also included as official components .

The office was dissolved at the end of the 15th to the beginning of the 16th century. Josbach belonged to the Office Rauschenberg in 1502 , was then counted again as part of the Office Gemünden, since 1544 the assignment to the Office Rauschenberg has been stable. Heimbach belonged to the office of Schönstein in 1557 . This meant that the Gemünden office was limited to the city of Gemünden. In 1650 the Landgrave of Hesse received sovereignty over Schiffelbach , which was assigned to the Gemünden office. At the end of the 17th century, Schiffelbach was also assigned to the Rauschenberg office. The office was thus limited to the city of Gemünden until the end of the HRR .
