Yoliswa from Dallwitz

Yoliswa von Dallwitz (* 1975 in South Africa , nee Gärtig ) is a German-South African cinematographer and lecturer.

life and work

Dallwitz grew up in Tübingen . After graduating from high school, she studied Fine Art Photography and History of Arts with Obie Oberholzer at Rhodes University in Grahamstown , South Africa . She then worked for various South African and German film and television productions such as SWR and BR. Between 1999 and 2005 she studied at the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf and graduated with a diploma as a camerawoman. As a camerawoman , she has made numerous award-winning feature films and documentaries that have premiered at international festivals such as Cannes and the Berlinale . She is a member of the European Film Academy and the German Film Academy . In addition to numerous film projects, von Dallwitz took part in various juries, including the German Camera Prize. Since 2014 she has been teaching cinematography at the Film University Potsdam-Babelsberg and since 2016 at the University of Malta .
