Man for a day is a documentary by Katarina Peters from 2012 . The film premiered as the opening film in the series Perspektive Deutsches Kino at the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival 2012 in Berlin.

content

The director observes a workshop specially cast for the film by gender activist Diane Torr , during which women transform themselves into the man of their imagination for a week: They invent a male biography, choose the appropriate clothing, practice applying facial hair and learn a new one ” male ”body language. The film deals with questions of gender identity and the origins of the behavior of men and women. The recognition of male and female role models enables the participants to consciously deal with their own behavior and role models and thus becomes a basis for empowerment .
