The Mühlberg / Elbe office was an office in Brandenburg established in 1992 , in which six municipalities in what was then the Bad Liebenwerda district (since 1990 the Bad Liebenwerda district, Brandenburg) had come together to form an administrative association. The official seat was in the city of Mühlberg / Elbe . The office was dissolved again in 2001 and the municipalities belonging to the office were incorporated into the city of Mühlberg / Elbe. It had last (end of 2000) a total of 5185 inhabitants.

Geographical location

The Mühlberg / Elbe office bordered the Falkenberg / Elster office in the north, the Wahrenbrück and Bad Liebenwerda offices in the east and the Free State of Saxony in the south and west .

history

On July 13, 1992, the Minister of the Interior of the State of Brandenburg gave his approval for the establishment of the Mühlberg / Elbe office. July 21, 1992 was set as the date of establishment of the office. The office was based in the city of Mühlberg / Elbe and consisted of six communities in what was then the Bad Liebenwerda district :

  1. Altenau
  2. Brottewitz
  3. Fichtenberg
  4. Koßdorf
  5. Martinskirchen
  6. City of Mühlberg / Elbe

On July 30, 2001, the Brandenburg Ministry of the Interior approved the merger of the municipalities of Altenau, Brottewitz, Fichtenberg, Koßdorf, Martinskirchen and the city of Mühlberg / Elbe to form the new city of Mühlberg / Elbe. The merger became legally effective on August 31, 2001. The Mühlberg / Elbe office was dissolved on the same date. Altenau, Brottewitz, Fichtenberg, Koßdorf, Martinskirchen and Mühlberg / Elbe have been districts of the city of Mühlberg / Elbe since then.

Office Director

The first and last official director of the Mühlberg / Elbe office was Dieter Jähnichen. He became mayor of Mühlberg / Elbe in 2003 and retired in 2008.
