The Rahden office was an office in the former Lübbecke district in North Rhine-Westphalia with its seat in Rahden . The office was dissolved by the Bielefeld Act on December 31, 1972. The legal successor to the office is the city of Rahden.
The office was north of the Mittelland Canal and bordered the state of Lower Saxony in the north and east .
At the time of the dissolution, the office had 14,892 inhabitants and was divided into the seven communities of Kleinendorf , Preußisch Ströhen , Rahden , Sielhorst , Ton Heath , Varl , and Wehe .
Until 1966, the municipality of Espelkamp with 12196 inhabitants also belonged to the Rahden district. Espelkamp then became an independent town.
