The Office Preußisch Oldendorf was an office in the former Lübbecke district in North Rhine-Westphalia with its seat in Preußisch Oldendorf . There was an administrative branch in the municipality of Blasheim. The office was dissolved by the Bielefeld Act on December 31, 1972. The legal successor to the office is the city of Preußisch Oldendorf.
The office extended between the Wiehengebirge and the Mittelland Canal . In the west it bordered the state of Lower Saxony .
At the time of the dissolution, the office had 13,747 inhabitants and was divided into the nine municipalities of Blasheim , Börninghausen , Getmold , Engershausen , Harlinghausen , Holzhausen , Offelten , Preußisch Oldendorf and Schröttinghausen . The municipality of Blasheim was incorporated into the city of Lübbecke , with the exception of an area strip of around 1.2 km² . The other communities together with the communities Hedem and Lashorst form the new town of Preußisch Oldendorf.
For a long time the office was characterized by agriculture and small craft businesses. The cigar industry followed the extensive linen trade. Later, medium-sized companies such as brickworks and the furniture and margarine industries were added.
