The Alswede office was an office in the former Lübbecke district in North Rhine-Westphalia with its seat in Alswede . The office was dissolved on January 1, 1973 by the Bielefeld Act . The city of Espelkamp is the legal successor to the office .
The office was north of the Wiehengebirge and was divided by the Mittelland Canal . It was the only office that bordered only on those belonging to the district.
At the time of the dissolution, the office had 6,549 inhabitants and was divided into the five communities Alswede , Fabbenstedt , Hedem , Lashorst and Vehlage . The municipalities of Fabbenstedt and Vehlage and the districts of Fiestel and Gestringen of the municipality of Alswede were incorporated into the newly formed town of Espelkamp , Alswede into the city of Lübbecke and the other municipalities into the new town of Preußisch Oldendorf .
The office was known for its manor houses Schloss Hüffe , Schloss Hollwinkel , Schloss Benkhausen and Ellerburg and was dominated by agriculture.
