Offelten is a place with 843 inhabitants and a district of Preußisch Oldendorf in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Minden-Lübbecke .
Until the end of 1972 Offelten was an independent municipality in the Preußisch Oldendorf district ( Lübbecke district ). On January 1, 1973, the place was incorporated into Preußisch Oldendorf.
The place is one of the most beautiful half-timbered villages in East Westphalia-Lippe. Numerous historical half-timbered rural buildings have been preserved in Offelten. The maintenance of the building structure is supported by the residents and the city of Preußisch Oldendorf. Conversion concepts are drawn up for individual farm sites. Agriculture still shapes the image of the place today.
The Limberg and Offelter Berg nature reserve is located south of Offelten .

The Offelten stop is on the Wittlager Kreisbahn . Museum trains of the Minden Museum Railway to Bohmte Ost station , which previously only ran from Preußisch Oldendorf , have been running there in addition to transfer trips since 2018 .
