District court Duderstadt

The district court of Duderstadt is one of seven district courts in the regional court district of Göttingen. It is based in Duderstadt .

The district court has a total of 25 employees, including three judges and four judicial officers. In addition to Duderstadt, the judicial district of the Duderstadt District Court includes the municipalities of Gieboldehausen and Radolfshausen . The district court of Duderstadt has around 45,000 court residents . The superordinate court is the Göttingen Regional Court .

history

The origins of the district court lie in the city court of Duderstadt, which was founded next to the Gogericht in 1247 by the Brunswick dukes . After Duderstadt temporarily to the Kingdom of Westphalia was one and therefore French law was spoken by a "Civil Tribunal" (see Law in the Kingdom of Westphalia ), the city in 1815 by the Congress of Vienna to the Kingdom of Hanover .

Due to the judicial reform in the Kingdom of Hanover in 1852, the city court was dissolved and the district courts of Duderstadt, Gieboldehausen and Lindau were established. The district court was subordinate to the higher court in Osterode . The Lindau District Court was, however, added to the Gieboldehausen District Court as early as 1859, which in turn was dissolved in 1932 and merged with the Duderstadt District Court.
