The Ludwigshafen am Rhein district court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction in Rhineland-Palatinate . It is one of six local courts in the district of the Frankenthal Regional Court (Pfalz) .
Jurisdiction and jurisdiction
The district court has its seat in Ludwigshafen am Rhein . The district court has jurisdiction as the court of first instance for civil, family and criminal matters within its judicial district. It maintains the commercial register and the cooperative register for the entire district of the Frankenthal (Palatinate) regional court. In addition, as a concentrated insolvency court, the district court is also responsible for the insolvency proceedings from the districts of the district courts of Grünstadt, Frankenthal and Speyer.

history
The city of Ludwigshafen was not founded until the middle of the 19th century, but developed rapidly in a very short time and quickly outstripped most other Palatinate towns, so that in 1861 the main town and cantonal court of the canton of Mutterstadt were relocated to Ludwigshafen. The court was now called the district court.
It was initially housed in the parish hall and from 1877 in its own building on Amtsstrasse. In 1926 the district court had 26 judges, which is why a new building with an attached prison was built in Wittelsbachstrasse by 1929. Badly damaged in the Second World War, the building was rebuilt by 1954.
