Salzgitter District Court

The Salzgitter District Court is one of nine district courts in the Braunschweig district court. It is based in Salzgitter.

The district court has a total of 78 employees, including ten judges and eleven judicial officers. The judicial district of the district court of Salzgitter includes the independent city of Salzgitter and the joint municipality of Baddeckestedt in the district of Wolfenbüttel . The Salzgitter District Court thus has around 116,000 court residents . The higher-ranking court is the Braunschweig Regional Court .

history

Today's district court was created when the district courts of Salzgitter-Bad and Salzgitter-Salder were merged in 1973. The predecessor of the district court of Salzgitter-Bad was the district court of Liebenburg , which was founded in 1852 and then belonged to the Kingdom of Hanover . Since October 1st 1959 it has been called the Salzgitter-Bad District Court. In Salder , Brunswick , the district court of Salder was founded in 1850 , which at that time was also responsible for Baddeckestedt and Vechelde .
