The district court of Goslar is one of nine district courts in the regional court district of Braunschweig. It is based in Goslar .

The Goslar District Court is responsible for the cities of Goslar and Bad Harzburg as well as the community of Liebenburg and thus for around 89,000 people. The higher-ranking court is the Braunschweig Regional Court . The competent higher regional court is the higher regional court of Braunschweig . The district court of Goslar is also responsible for insolvency proceedings in the district court districts of Bad Gandersheim , Clausthal-Zellerfeld , Goslar and Seesen .

Since January 1, 2013, the Goslar District Court has also been the central enforcement court for the State of Lower Saxony.

history

After the revolution of 1848 was the Kingdom of Hanover , the jurisdiction of the administration separated and the patrimonial abolished. The district court was then founded with the ordinance of August 7, 1852 regarding the formation of the district courts and lower administrative authorities as a royal Hanover district court. It comprised the city of Goslar and from the Liebenburg office the communities Jerstedt , Hahndorf , Grauhof and Riechenberg . The district court was subordinate to the higher court in Goslar . With the annexation of Hanover by Prussia , it became a Prussian district court in the province of Hanover . By decree of the RJM of June 8, 1942 - RGBl. P. 382 - in the course of the reorganization of the Salzgitter area on August 1, 1942, the Goslar District Court was reclassified from the jurisdiction of the Celle Higher Regional Court to the Braunschweig Higher Regional Court.
