Schleiden District Court

The Schleiden district of Gemünd is the seat of the Schleiden District Court (until September 30, 1978 Gemünd District Court ), which is responsible for the cities and communities of Blankenheim, Dahlem, Hellenthal, Kall, Nettersheim and Schleiden in the western district of Euskirchen . Around 55,000 people live in the 664 km² judicial district . Neighboring district courts are Aachen , Düren and Euskirchen .

On March 31, 1970, the prison that still exists today was closed. On December 31, 1978, the Blankenheim district court, which had a judge, was dissolved and its district was incorporated into the Schleiden district court.

Superior courts

The regional court overriding the Schleiden District Court is the Aachen Regional Court , which in turn is subordinate to the Cologne Higher Regional Court .
