biography

Kasparian grew up as the daughter of Armenian immigrants in the Reseda district in the San Fernando Valley . Her paternal grandparents are survivors of the Armenian genocide in 1915. She spoke Armenian as her first language and entered kindergarten without any knowledge of English . After graduating from Van Nuys Valley Alternative Magnet College , she graduated from California State University, Northridge , where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism in 2007 . She completed her Masters in Political Science in 2010 and has taught at California State University, Northridge, since 2013.

Kasparian worked as a producer at CBS radio news stations in Los Angeles, first at KFWB and then KNX . She also works with AOL News, YouTube, TidalTv, and On Point . In addition to her moderation work on TYT , Ana Kasparian also appeared on the English version of Russian Russia Today and RT America. After becoming a full-fledged star presenter in April 2007, Kasparian also became a producer and co-host with Cenk Uygur on the progressive talk radio on Sirius XM Radio and the Internet and TV show The Young Turks . She has hosted various shows on the TYT Network including TYT University , a program focused on university student affairs, and The Point. Since 2019 she has presented the Monday program NoFilter with Ana Kasparian and is both host and executive producer (with full editorial power) of the main program The Young Turks on the TYT Network.

Because of the earlier attitude of her superior and co-host Cenk Uygur to the Aghet , Kasparian was repeatedly criticized and only commented publicly for the first time in 2018: In her program NoFilter with Ana Kasparian she proved that Uygur regards the genocide of the Armenians as a fact. She referred to a recently previously broadcast episode of The Young Turk s. He subsequently refuted the allegations of still denying the genocide several more times.

Ana Kasparian is an agnostic atheist . She has been married to former baseball player and actor Christian Lopez since 2016.
