Anacampseros telephiastrum is a species of plant in the genus Anacampseros from the family Anacampserotaceae .
description
Anacampseros telephiastrum grows clump-forming, reaches heights of growth of up to 5 centimeters and arises from a thick, fleshy rhizome . The shoots are poorly developed. The leaves stand together in loose rosettes up to 2 centimeters long and 1.8 centimeters wide. The shape of their brownish green, thick, smooth, warty and pointed leaf blades is variable. It ranges from ovoid to obovate or it is almost rounded. The leaf axils are covered with short and inconspicuous hair .
The strong inflorescence reaches a length of 5 to 15 centimeters. It bears one to four flowers 3 to 3.5 centimeters in diameter. Their ovate-lanceolate sepals are 12 to 14 millimeters long. The also ovate-lanceolate petals are pointed and carmine-colored. There are 30 to 45 stamens available. The numerous D-shaped, white enveloped, triangular seeds have flat wings and are covered with rounded warts.

Systematics and distribution
Anacampseros telephiastrum is widespread in South Africa in the Western Cape Province in the Lesser and Greater Karoo .
The first scientific description as Portulaca anacampseros was made in 1753 by Carl von Linné in his work Species Plantarum . Augustin-Pyrame de Candolle placed the species in the genus Anacampseros in 1813 under the changed name Anacampseros telephiastrum . Nomenclatory synonyms are Ruelingia anacampseros (L.) Ehrh. (1788), Talinum anacampseros (L.) Moench (1794) and Anacampseros anacampseros (L.) Graebn. (1915, nom. Invalid ICBN -Article 23.4).
