Anaklet Reiffenstuel

Anaklet Reiffenstuel OFM (* July 2, 1642 in Kaltenbrunn as Johann Georg Reiffenstuel , † October 5, 1703 in Freising ) was a Franciscan reformist and Roman Catholic canonist and moral theologian . He published several theological textbooks and treatises and taught in Freising.

Life

Johann Georg Reiffenstuel entered the Bavarian Franciscan Province ( Bavaria ) in 1658 , which belonged to the stricter reform branch of the Reformats in the Franciscan Order , and was given the religious name Anaklet . From 1683 until his death he worked as a lecturer for canon law and moral theology at the Bavaria study house in the Franciscan monastery in Freising , which was recognized by the order's leadership as a supra-provincial Studium generale in 1685 ; The diocese of Freising also had its priest candidates trained there from 1691 to 1713. With his work he made an important contribution to the thematic delimitation of canon law and moral theology. His writings are considered to be classic basic works.
