Anat Czarny (born June 13, 1984 in Israel ) is an Israeli opera , concert and lied singer ( mezzo-soprano ).

Life

Anat Czarny enjoyed singing from childhood and was enthusiastic about the music she heard on the radio or during her ballet lessons. Later on, through private contacts with singers, the motivation to practice singing arose, and at the age of 22 the decision to become an opera singer. She studied at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music in Tel Aviv and completed her training in the Meitar Opera Studio of the Israeli Opera , where she played the roles of Hansel in Hansel and Gretel (Humperdinck), Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro , and Dorabella in Così tutte (Mozart), Dido in Dido and Aeneas (Purcell), Flora in La traviata (Verdi). Since 2015 she has been involved as a soloist in numerous productions of the Israeli Opera. She made her operatic debut in Germany in April 2017 as Prince Charmant in Massenet's Cendrillion at the Freiburg Theater .

Her concert repertoire covers a wide range of styles and genres. It includes songs in chamber music from early music to compositions of the 20th century and solo parts from oratorios and symphonic works such as the Requiem by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the 2nd Symphony by Gustav Mahler . In July / August 2015 she took part in a master class by Stephan Rügamer as part of the Rheinsberg Castle Chamber Opera and impressed with her performance at the final concert.

Anat Czarny is married to the Israeli actor Doron Amit, who is also known in Germany . In Europe she is represented by the agency Crescendi Artists, Copenhagen.
