Anatoly Wiktorowitsch Schdanowitsch ( Russian Анатолий Викторович Жданович ; born December 23, 1961 in Novosibirsk , Soviet Union ) is a former Soviet biathlete and current biathlon trainer .
Career
Anatoly Zhdanovich was a member of the Soviet national biathlon team in the late 1980s and started for the United Team at the end of his career . At world championships he won three medals, the first for the Soviet Union in Minsk in 1990 , when he achieved bronze in singles. This remained his only medal in an individual competition. A year later he was third in the team in Lahti, starting together with Sergei Tarasov , Sergei Tschepikow and Valeri Medvedzew for the United Team. Zhdanovich celebrated his greatest international success at the 1992 biathlon world championships in his home town of Novosibirsk . With Jauhen Redskin , Alexander Tropnikow and Alexander Popow he won the gold medal in the team competition.
Schdanowitsch was also successful nationally, he was the Soviet champion in 1987 with the military patrol relay and in 1988 with the biathlon relay, in addition three times relay third (1985-1987). He heads the Lokomotive for Biathlon children's and youth school in Novosibirsk. His son Konstantin is also a biathlete.
